New Store Opening!
RSPCA Queensland is opening a brand new store in Indooroopilly and we’re on the lookout for capable, passionate individuals to help bring it to life. This is a unique opportunity to join a new team, shape the store culture from day one, and be part of something special as we open our doors to the community.
About the Role
As the Op Shop Supervisor, you are a key support to the Store Manager, playing an active role in the day-to-day running of the store. You help ensure operations run smoothly, support volunteers on shift and maintain strong customer service and presentation standards.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role where you work closely with the team. When the Store Manager is away, you’ll coordinate daily operations to ensure a consistent experience for customers and volunteers. On occasion, you may also provide support at other Op Shop locations if required.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a capable, passionate individual who enjoys taking on responsibility and supporting others to do their best work. You’re confident in a fast-paced store environment, comfortable guiding volunteers and able to stay calm and focused when things get busy.
You take pride in presentation and the experience customers have in-store, and you communicate clearly with both volunteers and team members. You approach challenges with a practical, solutions-focused mindset and are comfortable adjusting when things don’t go to plan.
This role suits someone who enjoys variety and shared responsibility, values teamwork and wants to contribute to a store that runs well day to day. You’re motivated by strong store outcomes and by knowing your work supports a purpose that matters.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Deliver welcoming, professional customer service in-store and over the phone.
- Lead by example on the shop floor, modelling service and engagement standards.
- Support store sales through confident upselling, add-on sales and promotions.
- Promote in-store campaigns, initiatives and RSPCA Queensland’s broader mission.
- Perform POS operations accurately, including cash handling and reconciliations.
- Complete routine administrative tasks that support daily store operations.
- Assist with rostering and arrange cover when required.
- Coordinate staff and volunteers in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Maintain high standards of stock management, merchandising and presentation.
- Ensure the store is clean, safe and well-presented at all times.
- Support volunteer onboarding, training and on-the-job coaching.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful volunteer culture.
- Escalate operational, people or compliance matters as required. Travel to support other Op Shop locations when needed
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a retail environment, including stock management, merchandising and team support.
- Confidence delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced setting.
- Knowledge of fashion brands and higher-value items, with the ability to price stock confidently.
- A practical, can-do attitude and a willingness to step in and lead on shift.
- Strong communication skills and a calm, respectful approach.
- High accuracy in cash handling and attention to detail.
- Confidence using POS systems, computers and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with volunteers, staff and leaders.
- Alignment with RSPCA Queensland’s values and purpose.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including manual handling up to 10kg.
